2025年12月21日（日曜日）、高知県の献血ルームにて献血を行い、非常に印象深い体験をしました。この献血ルームには10台の献血ベッドが設置されており、設備は十分に整っています。また、マッサージルーも併設されており、献血後にリラックスできる点は、他の地域ではあまり見られない特徴的な取り組みだと感じました。
一方で、訪問時には献血者の数が多いとは言えない状況で、10台あるベッドが十分に活用されていない様子を見て、正直なところ少し衝撃を受けました。設備が整っているにもかかわらず、献血者が不足している現状を目の当たりにし、献血啓発活動の重要性を改めて強く実感しました。
また、ポイント交換制度を通じて、蓄光フランネルブランケットをいただきました。この記念品は高知県の献血者限定で配布されている特別なものであり、献血の思い出として大変印象に残っています。
献血ルームで対応してくださった看護師の皆さんはとても親切で、やさしく丁寧な対応が印象的でした。特に、看護師の前田さんは、高知県の名物料理である鍋焼きラーメンを勧めてくださったほか、県内のおすすめ観光地についても教えてくださいました。献血を通して、地域の魅力にも触れることができ、心温まる交流となりました。
常設の献血ルームでは、外国人献血者の姿はまだ多くはありませんが、時折見かけることがあります。一方、大学で実施される献血バスでは、外国人留学生が比較的多く献血に参加している様子が見られます。
私たちは、外国人の方々が安心して献血に参加できるよう、英語の問診票（英語版問診票）を提供しました。これにより、言語の不安が軽減され、献血の流れが理解しやすくなり、献血手続きがよりスムーズになりました。
今回の経験を通じて、献血ルームは単なる医療の場ではなく、人と人、地域と人をつなぐ大切な場所であることを改めて実感しました。今後もNepalese Blood Donors Association, Japanは、献血活動の推進とともに、言語や文化の壁を越えた献血支援に取り組んでいきます。
（英語）Blood Donation Experience in Kochi Prefecture and Support for Foreign Donors

During my visit to a blood donation room in Kochi Prefecture, I had a very memorable and meaningful experience. The donation room is well equipped with 10 donation beds, and it also has a massage room, which allows donors to relax after donating blood. This is a unique feature that is not commonly seen in blood donation centers in other prefectures.
However, at the time of my visit, the number of blood donors was not sufficient, and many of the beds were unused. Seeing such well-prepared facilities without enough donors was honestly quite shocking and made me strongly realize once again the importance of blood donation awareness activities.
Through the point exchange system, I received a glow-in-the-dark flannel blanket, which is a special gift exclusively provided to blood donors in Kochi Prefecture. It became a meaningful souvenir and a memorable reminder of this donation experience.
The nurses at the donation room were extremely kind, gentle, and friendly. In particular, a nurse named Ms. Maedarecommended the local specialty dish Nabeyaki Ramen and also introduced several tourist destinations in Kochi Prefecture. Through this warm interaction, I was able to experience not only blood donation but also the charm of the local community.
In permanent blood donation rooms, foreign donors are still relatively rare, although they are occasionally seen. On the other hand, during mobile blood donation bus visits at universities, a larger number of international students participate in blood donation.
To support foreign residents and students, we provided English medical questionnaires, which helped reduce language barriers and made the blood donation process easier and smoother for foreign donors.
Through this experience, I realized once again that blood donation rooms are not only medical facilities but also important places that connect people with the community. The Nepalese Blood Donors Association, Japan will continue its efforts to promote blood donation and to create an environment where people can donate blood beyond language and cultural barriers.
